Reaching 100 days of operations

TAGSA authorities during a press conference after reaching 100 days of operation

17/09/2020 - The airport of Guayaquil has now reached 100 days after restarting flight operations, observing all of the regulations set by the government and the city, specially when it comes to biosecurity measures to prevent and stop COVID-19 for the safety and health of all of the airport's users.

The Airport of Guayaquil is the first to welcome flights in Ecuador, as well as Central and South America.

During these first 100 days we have had 1.254 commercial planes which transported 106.595 passengers (31% on domestic flights, 69% on international flights).

53% of international airlines have started flying again with 39 flights per week, and 66% of domestic airlines have done so as well, with 27 flights per week. Nevertheless, the number of flights is still below the average number since many countries have not reopened their flight operations due to global low demand.

During this period 94% of passengers report being satisfied with the biosecurity measures taken at the airport. We continue working with frequent cleaning of all areas, asking for mandatory use of masks and controlling that all users maintain proper distance between themselves.

TAGSA continues its commitment to work to ensure our passenger's mobility is safe, caring for their health and well being.
