01/08/2024 - TAGSA, the concessionaire of José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport, celebrated two decades of exceptional service, having handled over 1.5 million flights and transported more than 70 million passengers since the start of its operations.

Over the years, TAGSA has undertaken several projects and improvements at the airport, expanding both the domestic and international passenger terminals, building a new cargo terminal, as well as new fuel facilities, the Exhibition and Convention Center, a new logistics center, performing complete repairs to the runway and operational area, adding new facilities and security controls, new baggage control equipment, and new emergency power generation systems, among other significant works.

For the past 20 years, every day, the men and women who work at TAGSA have been committed to the goal of making Guayaquil's Airport one of the best airports in Latin America and the world by the quality of services they offer to their passengers and users, working as a team with passion and commitment, enthusiasm, and dedication.

In 20 years, under TAGSA's management, the airport has received international awards and recognition for passenger service quality. It has been ranked several times as the best airport in Latin America and the Caribbean in the category of 2 to 5 million passengers per year. Additionally, it holds "Neutrality" certification for CO2 emissions from the International Airport Council, which endorses its commitment to reducing greenhouse gases at the airport.
