TAGSA Delivers Expansion of José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport Terminal
On July 31, in the presence of the Mayor of Guayaquil, TAGSA inaugurated the expansion works of the domestic terminal at José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport. During an event attended by approximately 450 guests, TAGSA's General Manager, General Ángel Córdova Carrera, reaffirmed the commitment of TAGSA's partners, Corporación América and Dellair, to the city of Guayaquil.
The city's Mayor, Attorney Jaime Nebot Saadi, highlighted TAGSA's compliance in delivering a modern and safe airport on schedule, offering service quality that positions it as the Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony and blessing of the facilities by Father Oscar Uribe, guests toured the expanded domestic terminal. With an investment of approximately 15 million dollars and a total construction area of 60,000 m², the terminal now has the capacity to handle more than 7 million passengers annually, making Guayaquil Airport the largest in the country.

Airport Receives International Recognitions
07/16/2014 – During the World Airport Awards ceremony, held on July 15, 2014, at the Farnborough International Airshow, Guayaquil Airport was honored as the Best Regional Airport in South America by Skytrax, the international organization behind this prestigious event. Winners were determined based on votes from nearly 19 million passengers worldwide.
In previous weeks, our airport also received first place in the category of Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean from the Airports Council International (ACI), as well as second place among terminals with a capacity of two to five million passengers. This award is also based on passenger perceptions of the various services provided at airport facilities. The ceremony took place in Seoul, South Korea.

Airports Council International Announces Award for Guayaquil Airport
Following the inspection of the expansion works at Guayaquil Airport's terminal carried out at the end of February, the Mayor of Guayaquil, Attorney Jaime Nebot, announced during a press conference at the airport that the Airports Council International has chosen José Joaquín de Olmedo Airport as the Best Airport in Latin America and the Caribbean for the year 2013.
Emphasizing the successful management model, the Mayor highlighted the importance of this award as it positions Guayaquil's terminal as a global benchmark in airport services. This recognition makes our company extremely proud and commits us to continue offering world-class service to our users and passengers.
