We Improve Our Carbon Footprint
On November 14, 2022, the "José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport" obtained the Level 3 (Optimization) Carbon Footprint Accreditation from the Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program of the International Airports Council of Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC). This certification demonstrates TAGSA's strong commitment to carbon management and its efforts to reduce carbon emissions, bringing us one step closer to achieving carbon neutrality.
The Airport Carbon Accreditation (ACA) Program is the global initiative that independently recognizes and evaluates airports' efforts to manage and reduce their CO2 emissions.
Level 3 (Optimization) of the Carbon Footprint Accreditation involves the participation of third parties in reducing the airport's carbon footprint, including airlines, ground handling companies, cargo services, catering companies, public and local transportation operators, tenants, cargo operators, and more.
Additionally, in December we received a “Greenhouse Gas Verification Statement” from SGS, which measures our management of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions. This confirms our compliance with the ISO 14064-1:2018 standard and the Ecuador Carbono Cero Program (PECC).

New Recognition from ACI
Guayaquil Airport has once again received the "ASQ – Airport Service Quality" recognition as the Best Airport by Size and Region (2 to 5 million annual passengers in Latin America and the Caribbean).
This award is granted by the Airports Council International (ACI) and AMADEUS, a global leader in travel technology and ACI's strategic partner in its mission to recognize airports that listen to their users—particularly in such challenging times. “After this second year of the pandemic, this year's ASQ winners demonstrate true leadership in delivering an exceptional passenger experience during the most difficult period in our industry's history,” said ACI Director General Luis Felipe de Oliveira. “We are very proud of their commitment to providing the best user experience.”
On September 14, 2022, the award ceremony took place in Krakow, Poland. In the photo appear Mr. Dimitri Coll (Vice President of Airport Customer Experience, ACI World), General Ángel Córdova Carrera (General Manager of TAGSA), Eng.
