This international program allows passengers with non-visible disabilities to voluntarily identify themselves by wearing a sunflower lanyard, ensuring empathetic and personalized assistance throughout their journey at the airport.
How to Request the Sunflower Lanyard?
The service is available 24/7 at the airport information counters (international departures and arrivals).
- Who can request it? Exclusively passengers with hidden disabilities.
- When can I request the lanyard? On the day of the flight or up to two weeks in advance.
- What are the requirements? Present your travel itinerary or flight booking confirmation and complete the registration form.
- What is the cost? The lanyard and any assistance you may require are completely free of charge.

Nursing Room for Mothers (Passengers or Users)
We offer a 24-hour nursing room that provides comfort and privacy for mothers traveling through our airport.
How to Request Access?
Mothers should approach the information desk in the international arrivals hall and register. Then, a customer service assistant will grant access to the nursing room.
What Are the Rules for Using the Nursing Room?
- Recommended usage time: 40 minutes.
- Exclusive entry for breastfeeding mothers (for nursing or milk extraction).
- No companions or food consumption allowed.
- Each mother must bring her own breast pump, bottle, cooler, or thermos.
- Capacity: 2 mothers simultaneously in private cubicles.
- Maintain proper cleanliness after use.
- A family restroom adjacent to the room is available for diaper changes.
- Each user is responsible for her belongings.
Wheelchair Loan Service
We provide wheelchairs available 24/7 at the airport information counters (upper and lower levels) throughout the year for any passenger or companion with mobility limitations or other medical conditions. Wheelchairs are for use in public areas of the terminal. To access this service, you must present valid identification: ID card, driver's license, or passport, and complete a contact information form.
If you are a traveler and require wheelchair assistance during boarding or disembarking at Guayaquil Airport, you must request this service directly from your airline when purchasing your flight ticket.
Pet Therapy
We offer emotional support therapy with our assistance dog ⭐ Cafú ⭐. A therapist and Cafú are available in the terminal Monday to Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM to brighten your day.
Accessible Facilities
- Tactile paving as a floor signaling system to indicate level changes at stairs, escalators, and elevators. Braille plates are also installed at restroom entrances.
- Spacious elevators for moving between terminal levels, equipped with support bars and Braille signage buttons at an appropriate height for wheelchair users or people of short stature.
- Family restrooms for people with disabilities and reduced mobility featuring wide access for wheelchairs, support bars on doors and walls, and emergency buttons to activate assistance alarms.
- Priority parking and boarding/disembarking zones reserved exclusively for passengers with reduced mobility (PRM), located near terminal entrances. We also provide priority drop-off and pick-up areas with wheelchair-access ramps.
- Adapted information counters: our information desks feature counters designed for easy access by wheelchair users and/or people of short stature.
Staff Trained in Sign Language
Guayaquil Airport has a team of employees with hearing and speech disabilities, along with their supervisors, all trained in sign language. If you require assistance in sign language, please approach the information counters.
Priority Lines at Immigration, Security, and Customs
We offer priority access for passengers with reduced mobility, seniors, pregnant women, travelers with babies in arms or strollers, and individuals with physical or hidden disabilities wearing the HD Sunflower lanyard. These priority lanes allow faster processing at Immigration, Security, and Customs. To use them, simply go to the area marked with priority service icons.
